Change Your Habits – I have altered my diet and have greatly improved my overall health in the last few months. I have been trying to head down this past for years now and always wound up coming up a little bit short.
Here is why -
I wanted to lose weight for the sake of losing weight. Now, I have never been ridiculously overweight but I could always afford to lose about ten pounds.
No matter what I did or tried to convince myself that I need to lose the weight. I could not get it done.
OK, so I was getting older. Maybe, I should lose a little bit of weight so that I can live longer. That seems to make sense and one of my mentors used that as is motivation.
Surely, I want to live longer and that would drive me towards losing weight.
However, no matter what I did or HOW HARD I TRIED, it did not make a bit of difference.
Then, there were a couple of magic moments that came about over the last year.
Change Your Habits
I had a salad for lunch one day and I felt great for the entire afternoon. One of my pet peeves and my Achilles heel was that I could not get a lot of work done in the afternoon because I suffered from a food coma. When I realized that I no longer had to have food coma in the afternoon, I got more motivated to eat a healthier diet. That was the beginning of my quest for greater health.
However, I still had one more weak link – I LOVED SWEETS
You see sweets do not cause a food coma for me, so I could have as many sweets as I wanted to have and I did not feel the impact of my energy.
However, I was getting some sore teeth.
Well, I found a book on changing your diet to cure your tooth decay – Cure Tooth Decay by Ramiel Nagel.
I picked up the book and after reading the first few pages, I realized that sweets are the number one thing between me and the healthy teeth that I desire.
I am not sure exactly what happened in that moment but the synapses started firing and I have not a desire to touch sweets since that moment.
How does this apply to you and why does it matter?
Success is not a straight line and sometimes it can be messy. The point is that you need to have as many success irons in the fire as long as you want to have them out there and you will be in a place where you in a position to have the success that you want when you are ready to have that success.
Bottom Line – Don’t give up and keep getting better and you will be on your way to an amazing life.
