I have thousands of ideas always rattling around in my head. A lot of times that is a blessing and keeps me moving forward with my life. However, a lot of times that simple gets in the way of where I want to go and gets int he way of having me achieve my specific goals.
The key for me to be where I am each day is to have a complete system that makes sure that the things that I am not taking care of in that exact moment will get take care of at some specific time.
Below are some of the key components of that system -
1. Everything that I have to do or am thinking about doing is down on paper - It is as simple as that. IF it something that has to be done and if it is not on paper, then there is a huge likelihood that this item will not get done. On the contrary, if it is on paper, then there is a much better likelihood that it will get done.
2. Take one item at a time and try to complete it - Of course this seems like elementary advice but for many it is not. I feel like I am busier if I can focus on multiple tasks at a time. However, if I can just take one item at a time and focus on that items, when it is complete, I will never have to worry about addressing that item again. Maybe never is too strong a word but it is out of my mind and out of my system.
