Write Fast - In this post, I add to my wish list of things that I want to do to increase my Marketing Efforts and to increase my exposure.
Below is a listing of my primary objective -
1. I write whenever I can. I expect that I will have more self generated blog posts than anybody on this blog. I keep writing and write very fast for a couple of reasons -
The person who has the most quality content wins in the end - There are two components to that last statement MOST and QUALITY. My belief is that quality comes from putting in as many reps as I can. We continue to learn lessons that make us better and allow us to improve.
Those incremental improvements will apply to all of the work that we have done. In Malcolm Gladwell's book, Blink (I believe it was Blink), he tells the story of the Beattles and how they would play in Strip Clubs in Germany and they would play all night. That is how they got very good. Mastery comes when a person is able to put in 10,000 hours on a particular activity.
My thinking is that the best way to put in those hours and get engaged is to go as fast as I can. There is another advantage to going fast. It is actually the bigger advantage. Our conscious mind gets out of the way an lets our subconscious do the work for us. I rarely remember what I write because it is pouring out of my subconscious as opposed to be forced from my conscious.
Now, you may be concerned that what you are not putting out the best material when you write fast. However, that may be the case but going any slower is not necessarily any better as well. The only difference is that you would get less information out there.
2. I have somebody who is reviewing my work - When I started this effort, I was doing the production, the editing and the research. The fact is that I am best at writing and producing the work. That is something that I can do quickly and without a lot of effort. I have somebody else who is helping me with the editing and the other behind the scenes stuff so I can just focus on the things that I want to do and the things that I need to do.
3. How do I get better? - I am in hyper work mode and I am like a roller coaster going at 100 miles an hour. While that is mostly a good thing, the challenge with that is that I do not take the time to slow down to do the stuff that I need to do to get better. I need to take the time to get better and improve what I am doing systematically so the work that I do does not stagnate. That is the difference between a CEO in the business and an employee.
So go ahead and just write fast.
Have a great day.
